Abstract:
Hereditary separability and hereditary Lindelöfness are closely related topological properties. The existence of strong S-spaces and strong L-spaces is equivalent, but the analogous equivalence fails for S-spaces and L-spaces themselves. We will examine the strong S-and L-space equivalence and Todorcevic's consistency proof that no S-spaces exist, then discuss some further consequences in the theory of function spaces.
