While there have been significant efforts to understand different financial risks in the face of the climate emergency, only recently these have been made to understand how these risks are interconnected. This workshop aims to bring together leading Canadian and international researchers working on climate risk, credit risk, and financial contagion to focus on these crucial topics. Another important goal of the event is to provide a venue for interdisciplinary dialogue between climate scientists, financial mathematicians, economists and data scientists. Although their areas of application differ, the methodologies they use often share a common foundation in probabilistic modelling, simulation-based methods, and modern machine learning techniques. By bringing together researchers with complementary expertise, the workshop seeks to promote new collaborations and spark novel research directions. We invite original presentations on broad themes of climate risk, credit risk and financial contagion.
Schedule
• The first day of the workshop (22nd June) will be dedicated to tutorials where invited speakers will deliver three tutorials on climate risk, credit risk and network models for financial contagion.
• The other two days (23rd and 24th June) will feature keynote speakers and contributed presentations.

Funding
Limited funding will be available to cover travel and accommodation expenses of students and early career researchers. Funding decisions will be announced with the final notification of acceptance.
Accommodation
Discounted rates have been arranged for student participants at Ontario Hall, the newest residence hall on campus, at CAD 76.50 /night for a private bedroom and shared bathroom with another conference participant. Ontario Hall is located 15-20 minutes away from the conference venue, and it provides high quality accommodation, consistently ranking first on students' preference forms. The room booking link will be provided to confirmed speakers at a later date.
Participants can also book a room at The Park Hotel, located in downtown London, about a 30-minute walk along Richmond Street or a 45-minute walk along the river from the venue. The rate (for a really nice room!) is CAD 183 /night + tax, which is approximately USD 130.
Travel
London is served by the London International Airport YXU, located approximately 20 minutes by car from Western University and The Park Hotel. Most travellers to London opt for flying to either Toronto Pearson International Airport YYZ or the Detroit Metro Airport DTW.
Both Pearson and Detroit are served by several shuttle services, including Robert Q, Flix Bus, and Ontario Express Bus (ONEXBUS). Most buses offer several drop-off points in London, including the VIA Rail Station and Western University. The VIA Rail Station is located within 5-8 minute cab ride (or 20-25 minute walk) from The Park Hotel. The Western University stop is located within a 5-minute walk from the conference venue and a 20-minute walk from Ontario Hall. Robert Q also offers a custom drop-off option at the address of your choosing. From Toronto, one can travel to London by rail, which is typically more comfortable, but also more expensive and longer.
